    Looking back at the goals, the efforts of Brindley and Cameron in particular were woeful. If we're going to accommodate a creative ball player like Baldwin at the back, the other two centre-halves have got to possess better defensive instincts and more aggression than Cameron and Brindley do. The three of them together, against the increased quality of opposition we now face, are as soft as grease, especially bearing in mind we haven't got defensively-gifted players in the wing-back positions either, or especially defensively-aware midfielders. We're a soft touch when we're not in possession, basically.

    If we bring in the kind of player(s) we need, I don't see a future for Brindley.

    Cameron I believe could make a good midfielder at this level, but even then he'll need to be switched on and concentrating defensively, which is a huge weakness for him at present. As a central defender he sees danger too late and panics too often (as a result).
