    Yes it was very, very poor defending, and I'm afraid Brindley's got form. He frequently doesn't go to close down and engage the opponent in possession even when it's obvious our wing-back has been beaten and he's only remaining defender who can. He's a throwback to the kind of 'pretend' defending that got us relegated, where the player feebly gestures as if he's making an effort to defend, but doesn't show enough effort or commitment to actually affect play at all.

    Brindley was a revelation when he played in the centre, but too often he's been a liability on the right side of a back three.

    Noticed Baldwin initially held the line whilst Brinds decided to drop playing them on side.
