Yes it was very, very poor defending, and I'm afraid Brindley's got form. He frequently doesn't go to close down and engage the opponent in possession even when it's obvious our wing-back has been beaten and he's only remaining defender who can. He's a throwback to the kind of 'pretend' defending that got us relegated, where the player feebly gestures as if he's making an effort to defend, but doesn't show enough effort or commitment to actually affect play at all.

The 2nd the asme sh*te attempt from the other side to block the cross!!

The 3rd A typical Stone blunder, I'd love to know what quality he has that led us to signing him?

The 4th not a care in the world from Stone.

An all round piss poor defensive display yet AGAIN!!!!

Have to say I think Stone was at fault for the 1st aswell. He was so slow in moving his feet and moving towards the shot it was piss poor at best.!

Brindley was a revelation when he played in the centre, but too often he's been a liability on the right side of a back three.

Absolutely spot on and why he should be shipped out!

Also a catalogue of poor control, being muscled out of possession and poor or non existent challenges from outfield players led to all of of their goals before the ball got anywhere near Stone.

Yes, this exactly, every time. Look at his direction of travel when the ball goes cross field for their first. He runs straight towards our right hand post when it's immediately obvious AN is overloaded. As though he's the CB and his (non-existent) right back will do the covering. Then he goes to faux-engage when it's too late. Is this on instructions do you think? He does it all the time that's what makes me wonder.

Noticed Baldwin initially held the line whilst Brinds decided to drop playing them on side.

It's his standing off with his arms by his side giving all the room in the world for the cross then his couldn't give a toss jog away from the goal line. If he had sprinted there was a chance he could have got to the player before the strike (or at least made the player aware he was there). He should be sat on the bench at best.

After the Morecambe game I was giving Brindley the benefit of doubt as thought he performed close to his best again, however, watching the the game back has left me scratching my head about him again. To be fair, he wasn't the only one!
