Yeah I find it very hard to believe he didn’t apply for the Oxford job, given the sources who were saying he did.

Basically it’s a very good rule in life to assume that your manager is applying for every job going at a higher placed club. Unless they’re Parkinson or Clough and have already been round the block a few times…

Me too, but I'm hoping the bros can pull another rabbit out the hat.
What I know though is that, even if good, the new boss won't be going about things as positively as LW....so still hopeful, but really depressed about that

Yeah hope so with the new addition, I wouldn't want another IB though, he didn't have the bite needed to be the man in charge. I do wish LW the best as I love our style of play and he got us out that league which on its own is brilliant for the future of the club. I just wish someone would stay with us, we're a good club, on the up, good owners and can get to League One I believe and almost fill the ground if doing well in that league. Oh well I'm sure it'll look better in the morning.

Not sure how we went from being "The perfect club to work for" to "Bye, Bye" in the space of a month but there you go.

Something has happened ( or not happened) behind the scenes.
Perhaps our "brothers" aren't what we thought.
Or our manager isn't what we thought.

Who will want to come to us this window when they will have no idea who they will be playing for?

Yes Smiffy, but it's more likely to be someone like IB - someone who talks about being brave and positive, but doesn't really deliver on that.
LW talking about being attacking and entertaining and then actually doing it is rare. Who else is going to play a 3-1-5-1 ?

He said he was having a 2nd interview when in reality he hadn't even had a 1st interview.

I can honestly say I've never felt so gutted at any manager leaving us before as I do if this happens. Not only has he been fantastic with us on the field, I think off the field, he's been superb. I understand why he would want to go to Swansea with him living down there and the big jump in position but hoped he wanted to continue on the journey with Notts. Never the less, I wish him all the best but still in shock

I heard from someone fairly in the know that Williams didn't outright apply for the Oxford job but that he was "interested ish" and was slightly surprised not to have at least an interview.
