Royal Mail, Post Office Counters all the same to me, neither delivers for customers.

Not trying to get on anyone's side. I've acheived my main aim now though.

Two posties were caught, but we all know the truth.

Cover ups are the basis of corporate life. Our adversarial legal system is also at fault. Proving the truth should be a joint endeavour rather than an adversarial process, imo.

No I'm not. Post Office Counters was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Mail plc on 1st September 1987 and as such both have what you might term a common ancestry. So although they are independent companies they are connected.

Same can't be said for the organisations you named which are entirely unconnected.

Not since privatisation of Royal Mail, hence you can post parcels for Hermes, DPD etc at your local post office, what were classed as crown offices, ie meadowside are all closed down, Royal Mail now offer free pick ups of mail from your house to stop you using post office counters, it’s a USO obligation that we still collect from them, will see more big changes in the future

pity this topic is drifting away. I thought that there would be more anger about the costs being £47m, those who lost so much not getting proper compensation, why has the Government not been implicated more. MP's were involved but they didn't seem to be able to do much. Is there no Scottish dimension. Was the system confined to England?

No there were victims in Scotland as well.

I read an article on Sunday saying they think there are hundreds more who have paid up "shortfalls" and still haven't come forward.

    Scandal.
