Paul Cook would never leave Chesterfield for us. They're running away with the national league currently, it's a club he has a proper affinity for and it wouldn't surprise me if they finished above us next season too.

While I'm sure Karl Robinson would come here, I can't imagine Jody Jones would be overly pleased considering Robinson was the one who froze him out at Oxford before he came here.

I bet all the feeling and emotions in the world are going through his head. He'll have a rough night UK time.

Karl Robinson's not a bad shout either - another one who believes in good passing football.

That said, nobody would have called the last two appointments of Burchnall and Williams. Our owners have the ability to spot talent in places where other clubs aren't even looking. Another "leftfield" choice wouldn't surprise me (well actually it would, otherwise it wouldn't be "leftfield", but you get what I mean! )
I like Cook and he has some very good players. Why would he leave a team doing so well in the NL this season though?

Disappointed, because listening to his interviews I thought he was in it for the long haul. Maybe some pressure from her indoors to move nearer to home; he did look buggered in some of his interviews.

Good luck to what seems a genuinely nice bloke, then again so was Ardley, and I for one would be happy to see him back sometime. At least he didn't venture over the river, in what would have been an inexcusable move.

The majority of the fans here seem pretty sanguine about events but a few seem pretty outraged so just for a bit of perspective --------

If you look at the history of Swansea City managers from their rise up the leagues until their recent troubles, you can see why any up any ambitious manager would be tempted...

    Roberto Martinez
    - Belgium and Everton

Brendan Rogers - Poached by Liverpool and has gone on to do pretty well for himself

Graham Potter - poached by Brighton before stumbling at Chelsea..... I doubt he is done for yet but with the amount he has earned in pay offs, i think i would take up fishing

Steve Cooper - not poached by anyone but ended up in the premier league for a golden season...

Russel Martin - poached by Southampton and will almost certainly be back in the premier league with his new club in the next 18 months .....

It is a really good club to showcase your talent - didn't work out for Duff but the awful pragmatic change in style he brought was his downfall in the end ...

It is also the way football works - as a Swansea fan, I have felt like a jilted lover many times over the past ten years and I believe LW was being honest about his love for your club and hoping he fails is all a bit mean like though to be honest, i hoped Brendan would fail at Liverpool but that was more because he took Joe Allen with him and also on account of it being Liverpool like..

wish you the best for the rest of the season and beyond

That's a pretty impressive list to be fair. One point. Luke Williams has lost his last 6 away games! Hope you like non existent defending. But you will see loads of goals.

we became used to a non-existent defense with potter then cooper changed it up and forgot how to attack - Russel Martin then abandoned defense but never managed to get the attack right either

so miffed have the fans been this season with Duff's non-style that i reckon williams will get plenty of time from most of the fans - we will have to go shopping to get the right p[layers though - that could take a few windows - i hope he gets that long

It's not the fans, it's the Owners LW will need to watch. His last 10 games not overly impressive, in which 4 were a loss on the bounce. We have dropped from top to 6th. We have seen Clubs sack manages this season for less.
Investors will want a response quickly, especially after paying compensation.
If it doesn't start well he could be gone before the season is finished. Remember his was only a success in the NL. A failure at Swindon, yes they had issues but so do the Swans. A lot of fans want the Yanks out.

Thankfully, there's no chance our owners going the boring, pragmatic route - they've promised attacking, entertaining football and delivered it

We were famous for lurching from one extreme to another in terms of managers. These owners have made 2 appointments in 4.5 years - Burchnall and Williams, the 3rd will be someone to carry on where those 2 left off
