A few years back someone told me David Soul was in Star Trek. A quick search found he was indeed in the original Series. It was Series 2 episode 5 called The Apple. He was dressed as an upmarket caveman and you would never have known it was him unless someone had told you.

Starsky & Hutch was always a favourite of mine in the 70s and I remember him from Salem's Lot too as well as from Magnum Force with Clint Eastwood where he played a vigilante motorcycle cop. Seem to recall he had quite a well publicized drink problem for a while that led to his later health problems? To be fair, he didn't have a bad voice either and whilst I'm sure that the success of his music career was mainly due to his legion of female fans, can't deny that he had some talent in this area.

Last I heard of him he was doing some kind of documentary around Hemingway and Cuba and although in poor health seemed to have got over some of his demons. His various cameo appearances in later life showed he retained some self depreciating humour.

Yet another passing to make us all feel older ourselves! RIP David.

Ha ha ha. Never seen that before. He looks like an OAP version of George Michael in the Club Tropicana video 😃 .

Absolutely loved Starsky and Hutch as a kid. RIP David Soul.
