We’ll be there stargazer buddy - albeit the FA Cup no longer holds the excitement of yesteryear for me.
I have great memories of rushing out at lunchtime at grammar school (I was a smart @rse) 1960s to read the blackboard put up in the playground with the 3rd round draw of the local clubs chalked up !
Thanks for the song Dubbag buddy.

Like most of the old fellas on here really I used to look forward to 3rd round day but it has now been massively under valued by clubs playing weakened teams after the busy Christmas schedule( 4 games in 10 days for the league clubs this season) but more so by the tv companies that have absolutely no interest in anything other than Prem Teams Why have Crystal Palace v Everton on last night? you wouldn't even know there are any non- League clubs left in the cup Which always used to be the focus i'm going to our game and don't think it will be as easy as some people think hopefully we will be in the 4th round draw where we won't get another mention unless we draw a top 6 prem club.

There was over 42,000 for the 3rd replay against Colchester f in 1968.
The 3rd round was often the highest gate of the season.
Also clubs who rested players in the leauge game befor the cup matches were fined.
Sky and the premier have ruined the football pyramid and The Fa Cup.

I believe that the strange match scheduling this weekend is due primarily to 10 out of 11 London area clubs all being drawn at home. Police have concerns about public order and public transport problems if all kicked off too close to one another.

Just one of the reasons I’ve got no interest. Used to love the FA cup. It’s nothing now. Only value is for small clubs to play at a higher level, so it’s important for that.
