    League Two - Reading FC

Reading football club owner Dai Yonge has been fined £20,000 for failing to deposit the necessary
    wages, at the football club.

Dai charged with misconduct by the EFL in September 2023, after not banking enough money to
cover 125% of the forecast monthly wage bill.

The EFL recommended he be banned from all football activity for 12 month's.
But the Independant DisciplinaryCommission opted against enforcing it.
The Commission described Dai's actions as " Deliberate Misconduct ".

A further £50,000 fine issued by the Independant Disciplinary Commission, has been suspended
until 12th January 2024 & that will be triggered, if he fails to deposit the required wages amount
    in full.

The EFL said, it did not feel another sporting sanction against Reading FC was appropriate in this
case, as they were taking direct action against the owner.

    Reading FC still remains up-for-sale.

    New -

Reading owner Dai Yongge has been fined a further £50,000 by the EFL, for failing to fund a
deposit account, to cover salaries of players & staff.
The EFL board urged Yongge to either " Fund the Club adequately " or make " Immediate
Arrangements " to sell the club.

    Yongge fined £10,000 in August 2023, £20,000 in December 2023, now £50,000 January 2024.
    Total fines £80,000

What’s the sanction if he says “ nope, not paying that” ?

Could it be the fans actions are causing more harm to the club, with their antics.
Could the EFL make Reading FC play games behind closed doors, to fulfill the league one
commitments at home, & not allow Reading fans to purchase tickets for away games.
Thus denying money coming into the club coffers, in home games.

How about a drop of two leagues not one? Or does the sympathy card card then appear for the fans?

Love it when their club is lording it up and cheating but, when the Chairman doesn’t play within the FFP to what’s required, it’s suddenly all his fault?

Reading Fc sell defender Tom Holmes to Luton Town, undisclosed fee, with the player
staying on loan with Reading, end-of-season.

Reading getting money in to pay players salaries / staff or fines ?

Reading - Cut back on training sessions, due to the cost of under-soil heating.

A lot of rival fans called into Talksport to mention Reading fans giving it large when other teams were in financial trouble.

Problems Again for Reading Football Club - 27 February 2024

Reading have been deducted a further Two league points, taking the number to Six points.
The Reading owner, Dai Yongge has also been fined £100,000, ' For Non Compliance ' &
urged to ' Adequately Fund ' the Select Car Leasing Stadium outfit, or sell his shareholding.

An EFL statement reads : An Independent Disciplinary Commission [IDC] has determined
that Reading FC are to be deducted Two points, from the 2023/24 league one table, with a
further Two points suspended, after the club failed to meet HMRC payment obligations in
    accordance with EFL regulations.

' The sporting sanction will be applied immediately, resulting in the club being deducted a
total of Six points in the current season, having received a One point penalty in August 2023,
before a further Three points were removed in September 2023 '.

' The suspended points deduction will be activated in the event the club fail to pay amounts
owed to HMRC, other clubs or any other football creditor claims by the due dates, up until the
end of the 2023/24 season '.
The Two-point deduction sees the Royals drop to 19th in the league one table, three points
above the relegation zone, with 11 games remaining.

In January 2024, Reading agreed to a suspended Three-point penalty, with the EFL over the
pitch invasion which forced the abandonment of their league game against Port Vale.
Over 1,000 Royal's supporters entered the pitch in the 16th minute of the match on the
13th January 2024, in protest against Dai's ownership.

Before this at a home game, against Portsmouth FC, the game was delayed twice after
tennis balls were thrown onto the pitch.
