    The Irish Weather Service originally started this nonsense of naming storms which I suspect was to get upsides the the naming of hurricanes which has happened for many years.
    Now the French weather service and the Danish weather service also name storms.
    A couple of weeks ago I came across the list of named storms for this winter starting with A and going through the alphabet.

    We just got on with things.
    I can remember Scotland being hit with the tail end of hurricane around 1968 which caused a lot of damage to tenement buildings in Glasgow resulting in some becoming uninhabitable.
    From memory I think it was March 1968.
    I can remember the noise from the wind howling throughout the night.

    There are a lot of ‘fair weather’ golfers who only play golf from April to September.
