I've been reading the Swansea Forum. It's like reading on here. "Not the manager's fault but the lack of quality that the defenders and midfield have".

I'm already starting to doubt the way that LW coaches at a higher level.

It works well against lesser teams and players of lesser ability, but it is so unidirectional and rigid and when it doesn't work, there is no Plan B.

I wish LW the best, but it's odd reading the comments of Swansea fans bemoaning the players like the Notts fans did after a defeat.

Burchnall - well he must have some contacts who get him photos of club owners in compromising positions. I can't see for the life of me what anyone sees in him. He's so bleddy lifeless.
Ardley / Burchnall were abit dull but ok I dont have any ill feelings towards any of them.

LW may have had better players but you still have to coach them and drill them day in day out and thankfully it paid off for us.

Some fans will be angry at loyalty side but reality is it works both ways you get a chance to move up a few leagues MOST would go for it.

I'm not angry. One plane takes off, another one lands. LW wasn't owned by NCFC. I think his tactics may work on paper against ALL teams, but against the better teams, the players (being human beings) get found out. I think LW will get found out.

I believe that when people point out how well former managers are doing since they left Notts, are they being serious? Probably only Big Sam and Warnock have done well since they left Notts in the 1990s.

Prior to that, Howard Wilkinson. Not many others in my lifetime.

I think if that is the case then the fans of Swansea know the problems and its not an easy fix which it isnt.

LW is an attacking coach so you are either onboard or you arent.

I was fully onboard as I was sick of negative managers and it is supposed to afterall be entertainment.

LW gave us along with the team the best football ive seen since Mick Walker and it was great to watch.

Im not saying you are angry but a few clearly are and its life to grab a better job/money/security for your family.

I think most coaches will manage the way LW is as that is generally the way the game is going.

Yes but you have to start somewhere.

It is also hard to get out the NL too lets not forget that.

Im not comparing him to Warnock/Jimmy or even Walker but he got us out at tbe first attempt he deserves our respect.

I just cant join in with the glee of mocking him like some are doing its quite sad / pathetic to see.

LW is great at attacking football but it's fairly obvious that he is struggling to sort out the transitions. He very nearly sorted it at Notts by going for a pressing game from the front but then this has all but disappeared and then it leaves his team's open to the counter

We all know Luke Williams doesn’t ‘do’ cup games anyways so tonight is irrelevant.

I think it is a little sad to try and ditch the memory of last year. Everything clicked. Players were mates during the week and business on match days. We played some scintillating football, which can be contributed to players and management team. Recruitment, in the main was good.

But…we rolled over so many teams because we were better quality than them. When it came to it, we didn’t win the league. Another strong team with ridiculously expensive players did.
Are we all saying now that Parkinson is a tactical genius? Or the best manager in the lower leagues?
Or are we saying he was given all the tools to fit into his plan and do the job given to him.

Same for Williams. Forever grateful for the memories of last year that we created with Williams in charge, but it’ll take a few years of good recruitment of players he wants to sort Swansea out.
They’re a train wreck at the moment.

IMO, the right answer is thanks for the great memories and you’ll always be welcome back at the club, but you’ve moved on, so do we.
Just like when Ruben or Wootten did. Great servants to the club, but, quite rightly seized their opportunity to move up and progress themselves.
