I can't see Cosgrove, Watters and Cole running their nuts off first half with non stop "high pressing" and chasing hopeful hoof balls for the exhausted threesome to be replaced by Dallas, Shaw and Jalo. Similarly I cant see the present defence successfully playing a high line on the half way line and having the pace to recover.

Neill and Jon are doing the best they can with the players they have been dealt
Clearly you have noticed a change in how we play.
From the style of play you have described - to being totally reliant on a ball player in midfield.
We wernt reliant on Mowatt as much as we are on Kane.
And that in itself reveals something has drastically changed.

Collins saying we need more players.
    IMO - we don’t.
Collins wants more players because he knows they are likely to dig him out of a hole.

Now that Pines has signed to provide added height at the back due to the absence of Cundy we have sufficient players at the club
For example - there are far better options in midfield now - than there was under Ismael with only Palmer and Mowatt for most of the season - and that was in the Championship.

IMO we are where we are in this league because we have a quality squad and Collins is getting a shift out of most of the players.
But the playing tactics and performances are dreadful.
If the frantic efforts of the players dip - there is a big risk of losing.
We should be strolling against teams like Exeter.

He wants more players to dig him out of a hole ? Do you mean the hole the owners dug for him with the summer transfer fiasco ? do you mean the hole they dug him when they sold his captain on the last day of the summer transfer window ? do you mean the hole they dug for him when they left him with a far weaker squad than the previous season ? None of these holes have been dug by Collins , for goodness sake give the bloke a break and get off his back .

Well said Shads. I think he's doing a topping job. The style of play is under scrutiny from certain sections but I'll never criticise players trying to pass the ball. Collins is trying to look at the bigger picture. With better quality opposition you need to keep the ball and use something other than hoofball to score goals. Afterall, we are one of the top scorers in league one. Then again, nearly averaging two goals per game and at times putting some excellent quick passing moves together, there's obviously much for Barnsley supporters to be bitching about and gates to be dropping
