Before the world went PC crazy. A film where black and white actors were just happy to take home a pay cheque without racism rearing it's ugly head. They all enjoyed making it and were firm friends.
One of my all time favourite comedy films ever. Just goes to show that the BBC still think it's okay to show this.

Brilliant film. Saw it at the pictures in the seventies (?). Not fussed about the breaking out of the fourth wall at the end at the time. Don't mind it now.
MY favourite bit is when there's a tollgate in the middle of the plains with nothing round it, and they went back for dimes
How long was the beebs edited version? About 20 minutes?? 😆
Absolutely amazing film
I would love to see them try a remake or sequel.
Mel Brooks is a Legend actor.
BBC also have The Eiger Sanction (or did last time I loooked) on iPlayer, that's a very non-woke, non-BBC film too.
Why wouldn't the BBC show it?
The film depicts blacks as smart, savvy and well dressed, but the whites are depicted as thick, easily fooled bunglers
