    Regarding Mvila

In terms of gameplay, the 33-year-old’s versatility allows him to contribute defensively with his robust tackling and interceptions while also showcasing his vision and passing range to initiate attacking moves.

Could be a good bit of business to see out the season. Also has played 20 times for his national team, so obviously has quality.

That's a very unfortunate surname he's got there. Still, it could be worse.

Didn’t he get sent off in his early career for head butting an opponent? Sounds like the ideal player to me.

For Sunderland's reserves but it wasn't a headbutt. Norwich player stuck his head in M'Vila's face and he returned the compliment and got sent off. Admitted it was a stupid thing to do but swore it wasn't a butt.

33yo played under Corberan in Greece. Boss praised the experienced Frenchman’s character.”

Back in 2015, the Frenchman was lauded by manager Dick Advocaat during their time together at Sunderland, with the former Rangers boss praising his ability:

"He can control the game and he is a passer with great vision. I haven't seen that temper in our games so far. He's from the street. If something happens on the street, everybody helps each other. Everybody fights. That's the way it is, although of course, you can't do that on the pitch. Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira were the same. You can't change them, but M'Vila is a good player for us. I only see the games he's playing and he needs a little bit more [fitness-wise]. But he's been a really good addition to the squad."

Certainly has a lot of welcome experience but still a bit wary as to why he is a free agent (and his fitness levels will doubtless need improving) but, on the other hand, this may be because other clubs might be looking for someone who can play more consistently and for 90 mins. This won't be the case for us as it's more about bolstering the squad and giving Corberan more tactical options as well as enabling player rotation and game management. If Carlos knows him, then all to the good and, on balance, a worthwhile punt to help us see out the season and retain our play off chances.
