Aye it was Dembele. I think Dan misses big Joe in front of him and I’d strongly suggest replacing him with Tino when Joelinton isn’t playing when up against a pacey winger.

I will back Burn all day, or anyone who pulls on the shirt.

He will bounce back, but not with the midfield we play these days. There is no Big Joe to help out Big Dan etc.

Many factors, but with the midfield we got available now, I would be sceptical to play him. Hes a much easier target now.

That's a good point about how having Joelinton in front of him helps.

I would like us to come up with a plan for dealing with a tricky winger and it would seem that Tino might be more effective in this context...

I’ve said before, horse for courses… and a quick/tricky right winger is not the course for Burn.

I’m not saying he’s a bad player around, but I am saying he was not a good match for Ogbene and he is unlikely to enjoy playing against Elanga… because he certainly didn’t when Forest humped us 3-0 and Elanga was involved in all of their goals.
As above, Burn got done by Elanga, repeatedly, against Forest last time.

Also that time he did not have Big Jo in front of him for the goals, but when he came on as a sub the goals stopped.

But isn’t that just evidence that without protection in front of him, which limits us going forward, that he shouldn’t be playing against players like Elanga?

Again, I’m not saying I think Burn is a bad player, but he needs protection against pacy/tricky wingers and just spouting ‘trust the manager’ isn’t going to change that.

I think this is kinda where I am.

I mean, if Eddie wants him in, then he has his reasons and we need to respect that and, if he's selected, Eddie clearly feels that what he offers by being in the team outweighs any negatives.

I do actually think we'll see Tino in tomorrow, though.

I thought he played well today (Forest). He was monumental in the box in the air all game and I think many LBs would’ve been done for pace for their first. It was a hell of a pass from Gibson-White and Botman was done for pace too. I’m more inclined to criticize Almiron for their first goal - it was his sh*t pass that started the move.

I thought he was caught flat footed and never had a chance with the pace of Elanga.

He also got away with one a bit earlier where Elanga could have scored also, but Dub’s saved it.

Again, and I keep saying it, but I’m not saying Burn is a bad player… he offers a lot on set pieces in our box (though he gives the foul away often that he helps defend) and offers a lot offensively in the opposition box… but he offers very little playing the ball out from the back and he’s always gonna be done by a pacy or tricky winger.

My neighbour is a Man U fan (he’s Irish so it’s a 50/50 he would be &#128521 and he said the only time he had thought Antony looked like a good winger was against us.

Without the protection in the middle then Burn is exposed, but even with Joelinton I think we loon better going forward with Tino on the left than Burn.

I thought ELANGA tore BURN a new @rsehole! Thought his lack of awareness and poor positioning, let the opposition zoom past him as if he was a statue! The writing was on the wall even before that Elanga goal, and Burn should have been subbed off before half time. I thought we were extremely fortunate to escape from there with 3 points. Bruno was superb!

If we all trust in Eddie Howe then we have to trust that h will choose what's best.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing for us fans.
Not only this, and Ragatino's post above, just look at the important match winning goals he gets because of his height and determination.
