People forget that it was Brian Laws who brought Billy Mercer to the club in January 2010 and he remained with us until he was sacked, along with Dyche et al, in April 2022.
He was briefly at Rotherham and then in July 2023 he received a temporary post at Everton to cover for Alan Kelly who was out injured.
Billy Mercer was and still is a great coach, major bollox dropped in my opinion too.
That's a bit unfair army, Laws didn't get the job until halfway through January, and was chucked a couple of million quid and told, 'keep us up with that'. He literally had a few days to find a couple of players and had next to nowt to spend. There's not much available if you start looking at the back end of January and Cort was quite probably the best he could get. I was no fan of Laws, I was glad to see the back of him, but I don't blame him for signing Cort, I remember asking at the time, who else was available that he should have bought instead.
Pulis (again!) had our pants down with Leon and no mistake.
He did not even have the decency to send us a lubicrant...

Yes he did when he had to find players at very short notice and inherited a hopeless situation after the defection of Owen Coyle..
Interesting to note that when Brian Laws was sacked in December 2010 we were 9th in the Championship, we finished the season in 8th position.
The following season, under Eddie Howe, we finished 13th, the lowest position we have finished in the last 13 seasons. The following season when Eddie left we were in 16th place but he never got the abuse thrown at him like Brian Laws did.
Not quite to the same extent, but I remember one November night at Birmingham, we were abysmal in the first half and came off losing 1-0, the fans were singing 'Eddie, Eddie sort it our, Eddie sort it out'. He never looked up, just walked off with his head down, he didn't sort it out either, we lost 2-1.
