One of those where it's a foul in the box that you hope the ref doesn't give because yeah it's a foul and you'd fully expect it to be given up the pitch but a pen is still incredibly harsh... but it's still a pen.

I'm slightly concerned by the lack of protest by the players yesterday when the penalty was given and the same at Wrexham last week with the disallowed goal. I may be reading too much into it, but the lack of any really strong reaction indicates to me that the players are seriously low on confidence and resigning themselves to simply accept when it's going against us. Whilst I'm not advocating surrounding the ref, if players are truly passionate, it's that emotion that boils up when they perceive an injustice which is what I'm not seeing. They look almost passive.

LW drilled into them early on not to speak to the ref, at the beginning of the season teams were collecting cards like it was their birthday for dissent and time-wasting. It has calmed down a bit now thankfully but the ref on Sat was one of those who has never made a mistake in his entire career and to suggest otherwise was asking for trouble. I think Crewe got 2 yellows for saying something.

The key is to channel the sense of injustice into your gameplay, but I don't see much evidence of that either. LW was all about control, control, control, but sometimes letting it rip for a bit can be useful.
