LR is just an employee at the club, he coaches the first team. KPIs etc are matters for the boardroom including our Director of Football, our CEO (ha!) and the other owners and shareholders. All the frustrations and anger seems to be directed at the wrong place in my opinion. Our results are out and they aren't bad, so what do we get a load of people saying it will be worse the next year or the year after, oh what expert visionaries are these, they must win the lottery every week. What would help is if we heard from the executive at the club to talk to its customers to explain what are the plans, how will we progress, when will we allocate some of our limited funds to the essentials like an artifical pitch to train on. We have a CEO that says nothing god knows what salary he is on (i haven't checked the accounts to see) we have a DoF that did a intro interview but since that hasn't even laid out the basics of what areas will be covered in any future plan. LR is having a bad time and his interviews are awful, but people say TS is an autocrat if that is the case, perhaps LR is being told what to say and not say outside of the game. PW had an awful start even with bringing in quality players in his first transfer window, in may when we are relegated it will be interesting to see if LR stats are worse that PW. PW then struggled in L1 it was only 2 injury time goals at Blackpool in December that saved him (if the rumours are to be believed) but we went on and got into the playoffs. There are issues at the club but LR is just a distraction away from the issues, why don't we at least give him the chance that PW had and start asking questions to the ones at the club paid to lead not coach.
So LR is not accountable and just a distraction but MT was at fault.
Come on Derby mate that’s just double standards.

There can’t be any confidence in the forruds.
It would seem Leam Richardson has not got the pulling power of a manager to get players in, after the Miller's
lost out to Portsmouth FC, for the transfer of Lang from Wigan Athletic, former club of Richardson's.
Look how well Lang is doing for Portsmouth.

Why would he come to us though? In January they were looking good to go up and we were looking certainties to go down. If the money was the same then it’s a no brainer to go to Portsmouth. A likely promotion followed by Championship football as opposed to the opposite with us. Nothing to do with the pulling power of LR in my opinion. Just common sense on Langs part.

LR Kelly are proving to be worse than previous incumbents if that's possible!

Players will have no belief in them game lost before they get on the pitch.

I agree with so much of what has been said.. but not that LR was the 'cheap option'. He was the ONLY option - after everybody else laughed at us and walked away.
I think that absolutely underlines the 'insider' attitude to us as a club.
I note how well we seem to do in early autumn / late spring each year and how it all falls away, particularly with injuries, in between. I'm sure our lousy training facilities are behind this, and as many have said, this stuff is basics before you can have any sensible 'ambition'.
But while I feel sorry for L R I feel the only reason he got the job was he was desperate and we were desperate...
And I really don't think he should stay beyond this crass season.
We should prepare for a long spell in lower leagues while we sort out our crap infrastructure and become genuine talent finding / selling club as we were in the days of Albert Bennett, Dave Watson etc.
To me that's our only viable future.

You're right Steve but it's not going to happen under this chairman who's not going to lose personal money on his football club ownership venture. We were all initially hoodwinked but now..........

Pocket come on, where did I mention MT in that post? My point is LR is not to blame for everything at Rotherham United, certainly not club set Kpis. He is accountable for the first team of course he is, he is not accountable for the other things at the club like the training facilities. He is our coach and sacking him will not solve the issues we have, now some people want him gone now, although I do not believe it is something that you have said. PW failed in his first half season and was given a chance to recover from that, I think LR should get the same. At the time I felt it was the right decision to dismiss MT, I do not think he was as good as he thought he was, however seeing the fact the club managed the recruitment of a replacement so badly and had decided not to use the window to give us a chance, then perhaps we should have stuck with him, I am in two minds on that point. LR is not accountable for the running of the club, for the decisions where our revenue is spent, on what our long term plan is.

    Fair enough.
I actually had a discussion today about LR and I’ve said on numerous occasions he’s inherited a difficult situation. The club needs to be reset in a lot of areas. I think we need a total philosophy change I’ll say it again I hope he makes me look stupid and turns it round.
I’ll be at Coventry and I hope I’m clapping him and the team off afterwards.

Well I will be sat here in Germany watching and very likely throwing stuff at the TV thinking poor old pocket having to sit and watch this :0) I hear Morrison is out again, trouble is recruiting older players is it takes less to make them miss games and recovery is slower, we suffered from people that should know better getting too many decisions wrong, one of those blokes got promoted another got the sack, funny old world .

Worst thing happened with football when streaming & dodgy sticks came in. If I can't go to games so what wait while the next home game. I love NH horseracing but alot of the better racing it's on Racing UK which I'm not paying for along with paying for sky sports. Know you can more than likely get that with a dodgy stick but again just watch it on ITV racing not a matter of life & death!
