Chris, how is the situation in Gaza worse than what is described in Post 42 ?

When the IDF deliberately exterminate foreign aid workers in fully marked support vehicles any support for Netanyahu and his genocide policy must have evaporated - surely?

It was a diabolical act. Netenyahu is being condemned by many in Israel, as well as the western world.

Let’s all remember that condemnation when the US, Britain, NATO or whomever make the same “mistake” and dismiss it as “collateral damage” or whatever euphemism is used.

Let’s also not forget the times in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan to name three where innocent civilians, aid workers and the like have been killed by Western forces and dismissed as inevitable in war.

The smell of hypocrisy is almost overwhelming!

Is there only me that thinks it’s absolutely nothing to do with us - I’m of the opinion that we are giving our own country away to other cultures and religion that people fought and died for.
It’s not that i dont sympathise of the situation

I’m asking myself did anyone give a **** when they bombed London - Coventry - Britain and so on did others protest on our behalf and threaten other nations - the answer is no one came and if I’m honest they didn’t give a monkeys what happend to us so I’m going to abstain and stay well away from other conflicts.

Sorry sinky, not been in this thread for awhile so I wasn't ignoring you. Figures are hard to verify but I think civilian caualties in the Ukraine are around 30k over a 2 year period whilst in Gaza they are reportedly about the same number in a much shorter time and in a much more concentrated area, it does seem like genocide. Whether the palestinians fully support Hamas or are being used by them is also difficult to assess, the whiole thing is a mess.

No probs Chris, the situation for civilians in Gaza has been exacerbated by the deliberate placing of their military amongst the civilian infrastructure, thus when the IDF attack Hamas, as they have every right and indeed duty to do, innocent civilians will suffer as Hamas have chosen to use their own people, the ones they have been elected to protect, as human shields, and schools, hospitals etc as military bases. Thus the high civilian casualty rate, nothing to do with genocide imo, if the Israelis really wanted to commit genocide they could wipe out the entire population of Gaza in not much more than the blink of an eye.

In comparison the Russian attacks on the civilian population of Mariupol had no justification whatsoever. There are videos of Russian tanks rumbling unopposed down deserted streets, just taking pot shots at residential apartment blocks, just apparently for the fun of it. Mass graves, piles of dead bodies, countless thousands of innocent civilians slaughtered, no one is sure of the exact number, and for what ? The Ukranian army were were not embedded in the civilian infrastructure, there was no military reason for such enormous slaughter of innocent civilians.

The IDF has caused many civilian deaths in an attempt to engage their enemy, the Russians have killed thousands of civilians seemingly for fun, or at least for no apparent reason. But the IDF is worse ? I don't get it Chris.

When is she going out to Gaza to express her opinoin? That would really be showing the residents how she feels and she could be a peacemaker if she feels to strongly about it.

I think it's called Virtue Signalling, it's rife amongst the acting profession, even those of Jewish persuasion. If she didn't express such sentiments she wouldn't get any work.
