Thread: The Bamford vs Joseph Conundrum.

  1. #31
Not necessarily saying it’s rubbish but a lot more pre programmed tactics/moves and less risk.

Would be interesting to see turnover stats comparing average turnovers in the 1980s to the current decade - suspect there is a stark difference.

The likes of Tony Currie, Zico, Le Tissier eh might not have the freedom to be off the cuff and develop in the modern game.

    Rubbish goals. Classic FAFO.

    Should. Never. Happen.

Going forward? Mix it up. Occasionally shoot from distance and, when you do, immeditely follow up to see if there are any scraps to feed on.
Example of the "comedy goals", Calvert Lewin last weekend, keep thinks he's a latter day Messi, just ends up looking messy.

    And they lose 1-0…

I find myself sighing whenever I see teams pass around the back for no obvious reason.

I’m sure it (probably) works for the very best teams, but they are few and far between and, well, I just find it annoying even when it does.

    Grumpy old git. Out.

Just seems to waste a majority of the game time. And even worse when you are trailing! No doubt it is to draw opposition players out of positionlike chess...which it rarely seems to do I'll add!...and also to drain them of energy shutting down. And that doesn't seem to work much either, as the opposition often score on the counter. 😕

Bamford was poor again tonight , as were a few others , but there was an opportunity tonight where I though he was just gonna life it over the keeper but he decided to go wide of him and put in a dreadful cross.

    Needs dropping for Blackburn game.

Rutter was worse than Bamford. He's had several shocking performances. Gives the ball away needlessly too often
Wrong decision making too often. But does bring that maverick ability to change things.

    ground hog day.

we've also crushed Joseph's belief that he's going to score once he's on the pitch. the double whammy. Play bampuff until he scores every 100 minutes or so while someone with a goal every 30 minutes with more pace and disruption to the defense sits the bench.

I believe this same issue started the ball rolling on relegation last year and now will sentence us to another year in the championship.

it's really crossed into the surreal category.

It’s unbelievable that the only one who can’t see it is the one that picks the team, I thought piroe was the answer and still feel he’s better than bamford
