Thread: Making Mistakes vs Tactical Instruction

    Lots of sensible points being made.

    Given the fact that we are very unlikely to find a CB who will be able consistently give SM what he desires in that role, we have two options;

    We persist and Maynard accepts mistakes will happen, taking the majority of the responsibility himself because that’s what he is asking that individual to do.

    That role, and as a by product the whole back three, adapts to be more suitable to a L2 side and abilities of those available.

    Given that it’s highly unlikely we’ll find a CB capable of doing it all in that role, Maynard must adapt to survive.

    The problem is, Maynard was recruited primarily because of the way he likes to play. If he were the type of manager who likes to get it forward early and not "dominate possession", he wouldn't have been on Radar's radar. If he's sacked, he'll be replaced by a clone.
