Iconic role as Yosser Hughes in Alan Bleasdales 'Boys from the Blackstuff'. His film career was none too shabby either was it starring in various cinematic blockbusters.

Blackstuff is one of my all time favourite drama series. Remember it vaguely as a child. In the primary school playground we either wanted to pretend to be Yosser or Oz from Aufwiedershen Pet!

Watching Blackstuff years later as an adult, it hit home.

Maybe too early for this but if Yosser had walked along Grove Street saying his classic line, "Gizza Job, Go on. Gizzit. I can do that", he would have got the HC role at Barnsley FC.
