Now theyve signed with Ticketmaster, does this mean away tickets will cost moŕe? Paying a fee for a direct debit to be set up is absurd.

It is no doubt, the way things are going. Money is be coming more of a controlling factor in football.
So, sky put more money into football. Is money more evenly distributed? I wonder.
Huddersfield reportedly are selling tickets at £250. Why are we not doing that?
We are backward thinking, take the sky money, less fans to administer, less stewards etc, outsource to ticketmaster less admin, take a cut of the fee.
Tickmaster fees….encourages more outright buying of season tickets….but wait. No discount for stumping it all up, or for the crap season endured or dropping down, or pay more using ticketmaster.
They don’t want the work, they want the fans, but want it easy at the same time. Loop back up to hudders…..
The interest free tickets we had was nice, the club got the benefit because it promoted sales. What they are doing is risking that. They don’t seem much bothered they, do they? No advance notice, just announce right at the end.
Usual lack of organisation and PR, hence folk on here wanting details. Is next Wednesday when it starts? Or claim your seat before or after that?!?. One assumes at that point and onwards?
What a club, what a farce in everything they do.
Am I the only one to think we are being taken for mugs? Is money all that matter to you know who?

I agree ,Rotherham United have no interest in the fans anymore. Can anyone tell me why matchday tickets for under eights have gone up one pound,is it a Ticketmaster minimum price or is it to fund some incoming high earners ,also will we pay more for away tickets l suppose we will find out the first time we buy one

It says £5 deposit, not £5 fee. So, if it's a deposit it should be taken from the total cost. e.g. if season ticket is £405, you pay £5 deposit to set up direct debit then it takes equal payments for the remaining £400. Lets see though, it says they are going to publish a list of Q&A.
Looks like the move to ticket master is a subtle step to stop people 'borrowing' season tickets.
"In a club-first move, supporters will be able to ‘carry’ their 2024/25 Season Tickets on their mobile phone or smart device and enter via the turnstiles using the same contactless method they would in the supermarket in a move that we believe will not only heighten convenience for fans, but also reduce queuing times at the turnstiles on matchdays.
Fear not though, the introduction of Ticketmaster will not spell the end for supporters wishing to have a physical Season Ticket Card.

Why will it reduce queuing times?
You currently hold a card to contactless and it lets you in (hopefully). Now you will have to open an app and turn on NFC on your phone, then hold up your phone, there will be plenty that will struggle or forget with those steps, hence need to keep a physical card.
This might make it easier to purchase individual tickets, but like mentioned lets see what booking fees are now added.

Fund incoming players? The under 8 season tickets are unaffected, so if we're pinning our hopes of getting Vardy's wages covered with a £1 per kid per game (for ONLY those buying game-by-game), well.... that can't be more than a few hundred quid a year. Pretty stupid to single out that solitary price, but having said that, I find it pretty disingenuous to use the following:

Firstly, the former is about the fans and not the club, so it's up there with "because Covid" as a well-worn, meaningless point. Secondly, 'operational costs' are a small part of a bigger picture. The Sky deal is reckoned to be a chunky piece of additional cash, a number of big wages are leaving the club, and decisions should be made on the overall financial picture, not a cost centre. Not to mention the fact the club should be looking to get the ground as full as possible now we can watch at least 21 matches without leaving the house (or funding criminals).
But, as I'm sure people will point out, if you don't run a football club, your view is meaningless.

has it always been 12 days to for renewals to keep their seats before they are released, if there is no auto-renewal then wouldn't it be better to have a longer window for fans to keep their existing seat. Will be a busy 12 days for those in the shop.
