They do, but let's be wary of the current goverment using that as an excuse for their lamentable performance. NHS waiting lists were rising and the life expectancy of the UK population was falling well before the pandemic.
The invoices for the pandemic and subsidising various conflicts around the world still has to be paid for

Seems like a simple enough question on July 4th.
1) A prospective government who are untested at dealing with education, health, the economy, crime, technology, and home/foreign affairs*.
Or
2) A government who have been questionable (at best) at dealing with education, health, the economy, crime, technology, and home/foreign affairs**.
* Appear to be further from the left than previous iterations, leader seen as being a bit bland (which I'm yet to see as a negative when the last 'character' we had as PM was a law-breaking clown).
** May also have a handful of issues with internal divides, repeatedly demonstrate cultish levels of far right beliefs, are funded by numerous questionable characters who prefer money heading to their banks via the Cayman Islands to limit what the public coffers see, have whittled down their 2010 talent to a point where a 2024 cabinet has Kemi Badenoch in it, tractor ****, partying while HM saw her husband off, Windrush scandal, piggate, plebgate, and the infamous 'list' (link below) of some of their scandals they carry in their back pockets as leverage.

Amusing that Starmer is at the Priestfield this morning with big signs saying 'Change' - a suitable place to highlight perennial underachievement and disappointment, as I have told my Gills supporting mate this morning
Two things needed to start fixing this country...
1. A truly democratic electoral system not the sham that we have now.
2. Address the inequality issue. Until the drain of wealth to the uber rich is slowed and ultimately reversed nothing will change, in fact things will get worse. There must be a wealth tax of some description otherwise we will all become poorer - including the government of the day.
Unfortunately, sham democracy and redistribution of wealth to the rich is at the heart of neoliberalism, and both main parties subscribe to neoliberalism so nothing will fundamentally change.
Don't expect your living standards to do anything but deteriorate after this election. Same with public services, roads, rivers, NHS. It will all get much worse.
What a choice.
Surely we will see breakaway parties in the aftermath of this election.
Come 2029 it wouldn't surprise me to see a yet to be formed party getting in power. This shower are that bad.

He also confirms the Tory Party (and Labour) are controlled from the background by shadowy forces.
Ah yes, conspiracy theorist and attention junkie Bridgen...no thanks til he comes in with evidence that stands up to scrutiny
