Martha Ellis Gellhorn (8 November 1908 – 15 February 1998) was an American novelist, travel writer, and journalist who is considered one of the great war correspondents of the 20th century.

Gellhorn reported on virtually every major world conflict that took place during her 60-year career. She was also the third wife of American novelist Ernest Hemingway, from 1940 to 1945. She died in 1998 by apparent suicide at the age of 89, ill and almost completely blind. The Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism is named after her.

Aye griff,Solomon was known for having 700 or more women on the go at the same time and this was in the days before Viagra, what a ledge!

Howoldboy,The thing is I’m happy in the life that I live,I’ve got to this point without the help of any government whatsoever and I’ve put into the tax pot for over 40 years so I’ve done my part, why should I lower myself to vote for someone who I know nothing about when they know even less about me,I’m quite happy to leave it to those who can be bothered with politics especially the younger generation because I doubt that I will be around in five years to care anyway

Angela Rayner cleared of criminal wrongdoing over sale of home.

Major news in most of the right wing press when the accusation was made.

Not quite so many headlines now she has been cleared.

"Rayner said: “We have seen the Conservative party use this playbook before – reporting political opponents to the police during election campaigns to distract from their dire record. I am grateful to all those who have stood by and supported me and my family.”

It’s just political back biting howoldboy,if Labour had something juicy on a Tory then it would find its way out there pretty quick,it doesn’t matter which party you support they are all the same and you must know this if you vote for a different party whenever you vote

No they are not all the same.

There are a couple of obvious differences, which have been clearly demonstrated in the case of Angela Rayner (and before her the "Beergate" saga with Keir Starmer).

    1. If Labour had something juicy on a Tory it would almost certainly be true.
    2. It wouldn't be front page news in the Daily Mail, Express, Telegraph, Sun etc.

I’m not going to get into an debate with you over politics howoldboy because you would beat me hands down,I didn’t even know what beergate was until I checked it out, politicans do what they want and wasn’t Boris caught having a party in lockdown as well but was stupid enough to video it? I thought that The Sun was a Labour paper anyway, are they on the side of the Tories now then?
