You've missed out Ardley, the guy who couldn't keep us in the EFL. Of those you mention, for us Warnock was a "5 minute" wonder, he marched us up to the top of the hill and marched us down again. Fat Sam was a traitor who didn't stay with us long enough to make a longer term judgement. Cotterill rode on the back of Munto, he would never have been given those resources in normal circumstances. Williams had something good about him but only proved himself in non-league, so that just about leaves Jimmy who was a god and hit a block because everything was going wrong with football just as we were coming good. That you can see something positive over those years shows you have some humanity after all - but it is all more than enough to test the patience of a saint especially after watch the Hateley (first time round) and Astle years squandered.

The most glaring omission from the "crap managers" group is McParland for me.

Suffering his brand of 'football' was my lowest point as a Notts fan.

Derry did a pretty decent job.

Ben Tozer leaves Wrexham - worth a look. I'd sign him up. A captain, a defender and one also turns throw-ins into corners.

Too old. Too slow. He's a decent defender who's had an outstanding career, but we should be looking at players either on the way up or at their peak. Plus, his wage demands wouldn't represent good value for money.

A lot of Wrexham fans we calling him black and blue last season, saying he was too slow and not good enough.

Hayden would have made sense. He's a real athlete and a decent defender when fit. But again, we don't tend to make obvious signings.

This^ 49 goals in 46 matches. Paint drying was a tempting alternative watch
