Anyone know the best solution apart from sleeping tablets which won’t touch.

Amitriptyline which I believe you’ve been prescribed previously for your issue AL, same is I take for my prostate issue.

Safe as houses, been used for around 60 to 70 years now, taken an hour before going to bed they really help me.

I’ve been on 20-30 mg per day for over 30 years.

The only other solution that works for me is proper exercise and I don’t mean waving your arms around at some middle aged organised event.

A five mile vigorous walk or jog in an afternoon will leave most ready for their bed.

Sadly, something that’s been taken away from me in recent months.

Go swimming in the afternoon, 2-3,000 metres, go home, light evening meal with a couple of glasses of nice red wine. That does the trick!

I'm an agnostic, dyslexic insomniac. I lie awake all night wondering if there's a dog.

Give Nytol a try Al, it's not a sleeping tablet as such, it's an antihistamine with a side effect of causing drowsiness and should get you a good night's kip.
