930 for a game that far down the leagues is stunning Frank and shows you just how far non league has got better over the recent years, ten years ago that final would have been lucky to get 200 so long May it continue
They beat Mulbarton to go up to the Isthmian norf. Mulbarton, got to look that one up.
That means City will have local games with Bury, Newmarket and Mildenhall, even Felixstowe are in there, and Brentwood, a big club from the old days, not now though.
The only time Newmarket made my awareness was in the late 60s, United played them in an FA cup preliminary round and won 6-0, what have they done since?....nowt, they got 930 for the Mulbarton game.
Someone must have put some money in. The thurlow league, or the old eastern counties league kick off on July 29th, only eight weeks away, time flys eh.

Yes indeed, i follow the non league websites, Dulwich get 2,500 a game, Chatham over a thousand, Hastings get good gates, many clubs have big gates darn sarf, the southern league and especially the northern league have many clubs with just under a thousand some over.
Halesowen get over a thousand, an old stamping ground, Stourbridge have slackened off, they will get big gates with a good team, Bromsgove are thriving.
The bad old times of a gate of 78 etc seem to be over. Bury, Bury St Edmunds that is, should be favourites for Citys league, the ground there is grand, they get 5-800. Mildenhall have a lovely ground, its like a garden, a summers day or evening, a burger, a pint, a warm wind, sunshine, a tight game, its footballing heaven.
Anything over a thousand going through the gates is impressive so far down the leagues,is there any clubs down there that have had serious money put into them (serious money for the league that they are in)
