I don’t like the speculation on a hypothetical problem but if the the worst came to pass, then yes, Potter would be a good option if we could afford him; there’s also the Manager of the Season in Scotland, a certain Derek McInnes………

If, as looks likely, Maresca takes the Chelsea job, Carlos has been linked by journalists with the Leicester job. If this is the case, and I hope not, surely an option for us would be Graham Potter. Any opinions?

Are Leicester going into the Premier League with a points deduction or have they managed to wriggle out of their pre relegation overspends?
Genuine question as I do remember the EFL tried and failed to impose a deduction on Leicester on the Premier League's behalf this season gone.
That was quashed on appeal but I was wondering whether any new manager starts at a disadvantage on promotion. I could look it up I suppose...... 😃
I think Maresca is a terrible choice by Chelsea.
Leicester fans weren’t happy with him in the latter months of the season and he’s only been a manager for five minutes.
He won’t make Xmas at Chelsea in my opinion.
As for Leicester, the standout option for me is Graham Potter rather than Corberan.
In truth if we lost Carlos and gained Potter I wouldn’t be disappointed.
There’s as much chance of Potter coming to West Brom than Mick having a night with Debbie Harry. I like Carlos but Leicester fans didn’t like Maresca’s style of football which was possession based so they certainly would hate Carlos’s brand of football which is more counter and quite dull.
I wouldn’t blame Maresca going to Chelsea as regardless of how he does he will sign a fat contract. Likewise Carlos should look after his family and own ambition if a premier club comes calling.
Loyalty does not pay the bills or feed one’s ambition!
That’s a very good point ‘68. It will be a difficult job for a promoted side to stay in the Premiership without a points deduction, let alone with one. My mates, here in Leicester, seem to think that they will get a deduction which could be as much as ten points. If that is the case would the job be that attractive to an incoming coach?
There is no chance Potter will come here.
I've also heard people talking about Moyes - no hope of that happening either.
I think the standout realistic candidate is Rosenior.
Ultimately, I just don't want to end up with another Pardew/Bruce/Pulis type manager who's been around the block several times. Give me a young, progressive and up-and-coming manager any day over these dinosaurs.
Problem with Rosenior is that he's easily dislikable. Supporter patience would wear thin very quickly when he goes on to blame all and sundry but himself as he did with Hull on numerous occasions. Good coach who clearly failed to make the most of some very good resources at his disposal, especially post January.
The reputed brains behind Rooney at cash strapped Derby could be an option given our resources were Carlos to leave but for me he needs to befriend humility first. And ditch some of those bloody scarves along with not spouting clearly indefensible cr@p during post match interviews.
