The Raving Looney is leading the Dim Lemmings, f u c k me, on a water slide today!😩🤡

I mean, that’s what the public want isn’t it, a fat bloke of 60 going down a water slide.

Sunak - Trying to bribe pensioners with their own money, you pay tax all your adult life only to get the money that’s due to you taxed again for a lot of people.

No date given as to when this be implemented…..as per usual, jam tomorrow.

Starmer - Has said precisely nothing about anything, the man is a waste of space, please god get Andy Burnham to stand next time around.

The Greens - Swivel eyed idiots now jumping in the Palestine boat.

Reform - What a loathsome rectum that Richard Tice is, even if I wanted every incoming dingy burst by machine gun fire I couldn’t vote for this Cnut.

I’m erring on the side of actually voting Monster Raving Looney….sorry,Dim Lemming just because they’re making me laugh even if it is in incredulity!

What a total bunch of witless cnuts we’ve had out before us.

Under Blair, we heard "Education, education and education". Now its political envy against those who'll make giant sacrifices to ensure a better education for their kids. Is aspiration now a dirty word in Labour Party circles?

I've noticed that David Lammy is very quiet. I'd like to hear his views on Gaza, Israel, Ukraine and Russia. Probably being kept away from the media on purpose.

Putting David Lammy on TV would be the biggest boost that the Conservatives could possibly hope for.

At least Blair put his cards on the table.

The problem with his “education” mantra was that it became a must for a lot of parents that their kids went to university, more a badge of honour for pushy parents in a lot of cases.

This lead to a dumbing down of what people were pursuing at uni, I remember hearing that at one point there was 47 kids doing a photography degree for every one job that was available.

If we’d had kids doing maths, physics, chemistry etc, etc in big numbers the Blair mantra would’ve been a genius plan, sadly it lead to a lot of dead end degrees and disappointed students who ended up in jobs well below the level they thought they were at.

My opinion has never changed with university, it should be for those who are academically elite and the subjects available should be much more narrow and of real value.

Grammar Schools worked because you had to be clever, you couldn’t scrape in really and if you did, you got found out.

Too many universities chasing the £ these days.

I was responding to Streeting's attitude tonight on QT re private schools and VAT.

Fully agree with your comments re. universities.

Yes there are less academic uni courses but it’s up to the students whether they wish to pursue photography or dance etc. My kids worked hard to achieve excellent A levels and my daughter has been rewarded with a top job. What you put in you get out!

It was the Labour government who phased out state grammar schools and it was the t wat Tony Blair who banned the creation of further grammar schools.

Stick VAT on private schools Labour say! Yes there’s very rich kids who go to private schools but a large proportion of families who scrape the fees as they value education and want their kids to do better. All those kids who then can’t go to private school because the fees become unaffordable will go to state schools. State schools are not free FFS as each child costs the tax payer about 10K a year.

Bizarre how some of these PM’s wanted to wreck state grammar schools erode competitiveness and stick VAT on school fees when almost all went to private school. Starmer will have you believe he went to a state school but he went to Reigate grammar and then it turned private.

Getting a good education is now more important than ever. Some excellent companies though pay uni fees or have super apprenticeships although mega hard to get on unless you have the right qualifications.

I agree with you about weak degrees although up to the kids. A good degree though can be life changing and my regret was not getting one myself!

    You’re missing the point.

Too many were encouraged to go to university and allowed to do subjects that were pretty pointless.

I’m all for quality education AL but Blair sold this dream that anyone that was going to uni was going to have an amazing job and amazing life at the end of it.

I presume that your daughter went to uni and did subjects that have enabled her to get an excellent job?

I’ve had friends and acquaintances who were glowing about their kid/s going to uni who went off and did lightweight subjects and came out with a pile of debt and then couldn’t find a job.

A number went and did subjects and went in and came out without a clue what they wanted to do as a job……bloody ridiculous!

If any of my three had wanted to go to uni with me funding it I would only have done it if they had a proper plan in mind and were looking at a serious career.

Too many do lightweight subjects and then want to take a gap year to p I s s off and party for 12 months.

There’s a lot of people like your daughter who are focussed and driven but this uni for all that Blair pushed captured too many who shouldn’t really be going down that route.
