Mckenna has signed a new contract with Ipswich, sensible lad!

His time will come if he truly is good enough. Financially he could have made a shed load but a year in the Old Trafford spotlight could easily have destroyed his credibility (see Potter - Chelsea - where now etc). Sound decision

As opposed to the mere £3 million per year his new contract at Ipswich is said to be worth, you mean. I know that’s a great deal less than he’d get at MUFC but how much do these guys need?

It may sound a lot to you or me, but that's the low end of the market. Yes it's absurd but that's life. Until the TV money is curtailed this will just keep on going. Remuneration for kicking a bag of wind around, or facilitating it, has spiralled out of control and all reality.

Everything in context, he hasn't chased the big bucks, but decided to stay and build on what he has achieved at Ipswich, many as Potter did would be seduced by being paid twice that and managing a big club at Man U or Chelsea.

Stupid money yes, but for some the lure of being up there with the elite would be too much. I mean Potter crashed and burned but presumably the several million pound pay off assuages his hurt pride somewhat!
