Do you want to borrow my ladders Al?
I don't need a mattress though thanks 🙏
I use eBay in most cases there is no charge for postage and on the rare occasion I've had to contact them they have delt with the problem quickly.
I have told a foreign speaking b itch who could only speak pigeon English -!I have sent the requested photos of the incorrect item six times which they say they have not received. I have further said when she said in broken English anything else to help you - I said you have not f uckin helped me and the next photo will be the mattress alight in petrol flames!!
W ankers! Told mrs to spend double if you needs to rather than shop on Amazon again!
The third party supplier who has not answered my emails either will get the worst reviews they have received in history!!
Shower of s hit!!’
Amazon ALWAYS refund customers even in cases where we know our customer is lying.
You’ll end up getting a free mattress so instead of jumping up and down on the spot with rage just chill.
You’ve often said on here AL how you lie to Amazon about an item not arriving etc to get a freebie.
They’ve decided to get their own back this time!
If I was you were you I wouldn’t answer the door this afternoon when they try to deliver that set of butt plugs and the leather gimp outfit!
There are many things I don't like about Amazon's business model from their tax avoidance to their terms and conditions for staff (which is not just them by a long chalk btw) but both enable them to keep costs down. Given this, coupled with the convenience of next day Prime delivery on most items, I'd be surprised if most people don't use them.
Given the sheer volume of orders they deal with daily, of course mistakes happen (even though mistaking a mattress for a set of ladders is pretty hard to believe 😀. The outsourcing to India/ SE Asia of call centres where you struggle to understand what their customer service staff are saying can be a massive pain in the backside-but Amazon are hardly the only ones to do it.
I've certainly had some issues with orders from Amazon over the years (overwhelmingly third party sellers) but, to be fair, have always found their customer service pretty good. With direct goods -like my kindle-its true that I've had to navigate the language barrier sometimes but my problem has always been resolved quickly and fairly and if third party sellers have been awkward, as Mick says, Amazon have always refunded with no quibble.
Deciding to outsource customer services to centres where staff cannot speak English clearly is certainly a pain but it's not the staff's fault. What really p isses me off are unhelpful customer service staff -and they certainly aren't limited to those who struggle with the English language !! Having worked in customer facing jobs the vast majority of my working career, I fully understand the issues such staff can face but I also know what good service looks like and am increasingly less tolerant of poor customer service and attitude.
Latest - they want me to take the heavy mattress to a drop box as sending a courier for collection is not an option. No credit whatsoever for the inconvenience. No refund until the mattress is return via a drop box.
Why the f uck would i want to go to a drop box when it's not my mistake. I will just call the bank and go through the charge back process as i have not received the orders ordered!
Horrible horrible company. The review I leave will be shocking! The third party seller is just as s hit as their contact telephone number does not even work! Amazon must do ZERO vetting of third party sellers!
We send thousands of parcels each year through Amazon and mistakes are very rare, every order we send is double checked by another member of staff.
I can’t understand why you’re having such a problem with this order. If you enter an A-Z claim with Amazon you’ll get your money back and very likely get to keep the mattress as well.
Just enter the A-Z claim, we lose money to rogue customers due to this system as it’s so heavily weighted in favour of customers.
There’s nothing wrong with buying from a third party seller on Amazon but the most important thing is to read their feedback, I don’t buy anything unless a company has a strong feedback history.
How’s the mattress by the way?
Are you still dealing with the third party Al or Amazon themselves now? The drop spot thing for a mattress is farcical as they are clearly only for smaller items. I know you've probably gone through this before but using the online service on your Amazon account request return as "item not received", explain the situation (again) and state that given the size/weight of the item you got sent in error, it is clearly not suitable for drop spot collection and they need to pick it up from yourself.
Bottom line is that you ordered and paid for a ladder you didn't get so legally they are in breach of contract and either have to refund you for it or else send you the item you ordered. In this respect, the mattress is irrelevant. You didn't order it so it's down to them whether they want to pick it up or not.
Deep breathes (and possibly a glug of something !)
