I am not aware of current or future authorities suggesting we shut our borders completely as has been intimidated by some.
My understanding is that the preference is to thoroughly vet who is coming here and that they are suitable qualified, experienced and have the skills that we require. Presumably this can also include low skilled workers too if there is a supply shortage

I’ve only heard the Reform Party suggesting they would set a minimum threshold

Surely there’s a happy medium rather than open the borders or let no one in as both of those aren’t what we need.

I completely agree flour. We should use the Brexit powers going forward to assess carefully what the labour market needs and adapt accordingly to fill all types of vacancies that can't be filled from our own workforce. I'm all for a big investment on skilling up and recruiting workers from out of work positions for positions that they can fill, expand apprenticeships, enhance pay and make as much work as possible attractive enough to encourage those who are able to work. But after that, I still fear that we will struggle to recruit on mass for many areas in order for many public and provate sectors to stay functioning.

These questions were aimed at the posters on here who are supporting Farage's demand for net zero immigration - but without saying exactly how they would practically fill the positions that would be left open by this policy without the completely unserious 'force the buggers to work' mentality which can ony really appeal to people who can't think, let alone think things through.
