With all the hyper around Minteh & apparent interest. "The club are inundated with offers for the young winger" has been reported on many site and forums.

We'd be looking to get offers north of £35million before we even started to entertain the conversation around the player.

Anything less doesn't make sense and doesn't really move the needle in a seismic way in terms of our PSR/FFP flexibility.

Our budget is around £150m before player sales. The major financial pinch point is squad wages not spending power.

Moving the Frasers', the Lewis', the Haydens' off the books as well as the already departed of Hendrick, Dummett, Ritchie is sufficient to ensure we don't have any real financial pressure.

Dubz, Miggy & Wilson sales will further that £150m transfer pot.

2 reasons NUFC are constantly talked about in FFP/PSR.

1 - the club friendly journos have been told by the club to push our financial struggles so that we look like we're struggling to find money for players, keeping prices competitive.

2 - Lazy London based hacks and NUFC haters spread the scare mongering tactics to try destabilise & wind up the fanbase in an effort to destabilise the club, players like Bruno/Isak and get the supporters angry at the club.

It's all nonsense to be ignored.

Fact is the directors have always say "if there is a player that will improve us & the deal makes sense no matter what the cost, the club will go do their very best to secure that player's signature."

We can always make the money work.

Everton are unwilling/unable to match Newcastle's £40m valuation for Yankuba Minteh, who now looks likely to be heading to Lyon in France.

Newcastle will insist on a buy back clause in his contract when a sale is agreed, as well as a sell on fee/percentage.

Smart business really by Newcastle United given our situation and need to trade, as we've not lost Bruno or Isak and will still pass FFP/PSR with this deal and can buy him back if he continues to do well in the future or earn us another pay day! Win win!?

    -------------

If this is true it would def be a win/win for us - if we have to sell him.

I would assume that the club will be negotiating a decent sell on percentage and a buy back clause. The one thing people here in the Middle East who have done business with the board members tell me is that they are top top negotiators.

Whatever the deal is to sell him ends up being it will be very favourable. We don't stake it high and sell it cheap like our previous regime.

Comforting to know we have top grade talkers taking care of business now. Anything that does happen will be for the greater good of the club unlike mole man and Cashley in bygone days.

    Precisely!

We only have to look at the stance with Tw@Cliff and C-Ashworth. The board aren't going to be messed around.

I'm sure that Sheikh Yasir will have taken this whole business personally. Arabs are very personable people. You get along before you go along as the saying goes.

There is a term in Arabic which is 'Wasta', it means 'clout/nepotism/who you know/trusted relationship'. It is often misinterpreted by Europeans as mild corruption etc. However, in fact it's far more to do with loyalty, respect and trust.

When I landed in the gulf about 10 yrs ago I wasn't very familiar with Arabic culture. One of the older British lads here, a Glaswegian called Dave, took me under his wing so to speak and educated me on the way business operates against the cultural background.

Dave came out here during the mid 80s when the Oil & Gas business was booming. He came to build off-shore platforms. By the time I arrived in the mid 2010s he was working for the Supreme Committee (great name for a government agency) on projects nothing to do with O&G. The metro system, all things world cup etc etc.

Because he was a trusted, respected and loyal person who had show his commitment to the Sheikhs and higher ups in the Emir's office (diwan) he had gain immense 'Wasta'. So when you are in with you end up working on whatever they ask you to work on.

No doubt, Sheikh Yasir will have liked C-Ashworth and with his first year Dan had began to earn Wasta. To then walk out is a massive insult to the Arab sensibility, to go to a direct rival is about as rude as you can be.

Business is business, however, the manner in which C-Ashworth and Tw@Cliff have acted is no doubt the reason why NUFC will not budge and be glad to have their day in court.

Just read that the deal for Minteh to Lyon has broken down, it’s saying that Brighton are now interested? Sometimes are just not meant to be, we should keep him, even loan him out again, but don’t sell, let’s clear the decks of some of the others first. Would love to be a fly on the wall in these recruitment meetings! I wonder what Eddie’s thinking, does he want to sell Minteh or keep,I reckon it’s keep but his hands might be tied. I see Chelsea are now after Isak £115 million! More bull****? We wouldn’t would we?

I had an interesting convo with someone that has contact in the club.

Not an ITK as such but he clearly knows someone as the snippets he's given me in the past have all come true.

Apperently the Minteh deal isn't completely PSR/FFP releated. According to him, Minteh has a serious serious attitude problem - think Nile Ranger is what he said to me. It's one of the reasons Feyenood haven't put an offer in for him. Eddie apperently has washed his hands of trying to work with him.

Could be rubbish but the guy has some credit with me for previous stuff he's told me.
