Lack of signings or extensions is due to lower budget because of pitch and fine expenditure.
Doubt the pitch will have a bearing on budget, but I think slow season ticket sales will
And Dundee pleaded guilty did they not?
All this hand wringing about fines, the only one I take issue with is rangers hotel.
Why should we let it go just because you think that John Nelms is worth every penny of his £128k annual salary.
If it was a public limited company he would have been sacked for failing to get the drainage problems with the Dens Park sorted during the 2022-23 close season when the pitch was relaid as a stop gap measure.
That is why we should be requesting clarification of what kind of postponement and any mitigating circumstances. If it is any postponement whatsoever then it's clearly ridiculous. Heavy snow will cause postponements irrespective of whether the pitch has good drainage. What about severe gales, games off due to travelling difficulties, police advice etc.? Even assuming that any postponement relates only to waterlogging what if other games are off the same day? What if the weather is genuinely exceptional with a ludicrous amount of rain in the run up to kick off where even the best of pitches would struggle. This last point is relevant when we are playing on a day there is no other games to compare directly with as with the Rangers debacle last season.
Motherwell had problems years ago, got fined, sorted their pitch but didn't have the 'any further postponement ' clause hanging over their heads. This is all down to the SPFL pandering to Rangers. Of course we should have sorted things before but we have now by all accounts and that should have been the end of it. The next season threat is just pure vindictiveness.
