This has to be a bit of a coup. A player offered a contract by the club he helped to promotion, whom he played 100 plus games for, and he’s chosen us.

I think we can say now we are officially not messing around.
That’s 4 players that have excelled at this level, just what we needed.

We wouldn't sign him to compete with Jones so presumably 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-3?

This bit stood out for me:

“He’s also very strong in defensive phases and comfortable playing on both flanks, so he’ll be a fantastic support to Jodi Jones, Aaron Nemane and our other wide options.”

It’s very rare to find players who excel on both flanks (Trippier being a perfect example of someone who can play on either side, but is clearly so much better on the right), so it will be interesting to see how Nick Tsaroulla does and who he perhaps displaces from the team.

On paper, though, it’s another top signing. Let’s hope this week’s business convinces any season ticket holdouts to do the right thing (finances permitting).

All the new signings will have a full pre-season which is good news.

Well I think he will with Nemane, the statement certainly suggests we’re going to probably play wingbacks. I’ve said for a long time I’d like Jones further up and not so much on the wing as I think teams will just keep doubling up on him and he’s a waste of attacking talent having him running back to his corner flag. It’s a very good signing and going to give us options formation wise and tbf we had no decent competition at WB last season. I would say if we can get another decent CB and CM in this will be an extremely good transfer window.

This seems like a good signing on the face of it. A player who has had a good education having been in Tottenham Hotspurs academy. He's a bit like JJ in that he has had to go through adversity and come back albeit different circumstances after a car crash but still having to rebuild his career. Ironic that his 100th appearance for Crawley was in a 3-1 defeat to us.

At 25 he is still young enough to improve over the next couple of years and having over 100 appearances under his belt in League Two already and being part of a promotion winning team last season then it's promising.
