In my opinion we would never have suffered Admin 1 if the Marrs had let Jocky Scott remain as the manager and left him to sign players without bankrupting the club.
Importantly we would still own Dens Park.
Jocky wasn't sacked, his contract ended and he left the club. I wasn't a fan of the Marrs and what they were doing at the time, Stevie Wonder in a dark room wearing a blindfold could see how it was going to end, but what a ride it was.

Jocky being sacked by the Marrs has become urban legend; same as if he'd stayed admin would never have happened - but then we'd never have seen Cannigia, Caballero and Sara at Dens .

Tim Keyes is the current majority owner.
So in your opinion do you think John Nelms as MD at Dens is doing a better or worse job at running Dundee Football Club than previous owners Cook and Dixon or even the Marrs....a simple yes or no answer.

You should do your homework.Dundee FC finished 7th in the league under Jocky Scott before he was replaced by the Bonetti brothers, not 5th as you stated.

NO. He is doing a worse job.
In my opinion John Nelms does not have the qualifications to be in charge of running a professional soccer club in Scotland.

What would you have rather had. Option 1 or Option 2.
    1. Watching Cannigia, Caballero and Sara playing for Dundee FC which resulted in Admin 1.
    2. Spending within our means which would have avoided Admin 1.

That choice wasn't mine. My role was to support the club whatever it was doing, through thin and thinner, I still do that even though I think the people currently in charge don't necessarily have the same hopes and wishes for the club that I do.

Islay is correct in the respect that we finished 5th under Jocky in season 98/99, then the following season 99/2000 did indeed finish 7th.
Both times finishing above United, and you would probably say acceptable, when you take into account the yo-yo existence therafter, the Bonetti period excepted, albeit they never topped the achievement of Jock's 5th place, which is what I think Islay was driving at.

I would put last seasons league campaign above jockys 7th place finish and equal or a whisker behind his 5th place finish......I think both of those campaigns were 10 team leagues.....so 7th is actually 4th btm.

I don't think we shud be comparing Nelmsy with past leaders/owners.....we shud be judging Nelms and FPS against their own actions, promises and leadership.

I wudnae have been thankful to have Harold Shipman as my GP just so I cud have a GP.........we shouldn't be eternally thankful for Nelms because he hasn't led us into admin.

Sure Jocky was asked his plans for us going forward as were others interviews for the job, Ivano’s was the thought to be the best

Jocky wasn’t sacked, his contract was up
