I know most players at Barnsley and other Third/ Fourth Division clubs, use the clubs as a stepping stone in their career but Styles has never wanted to be here and play for us since the glorious failure in the Championship Play Offs under Ismael.

Just as Styles doesn't want to be regarded as a Barnsley player i find it difficult to regard him as one of ours.

We need some money incoming from his transfer this window as he is entering the final year of his contract with BFC

In fairness to the lad he could have previously run down his contract but our wonderful owners so some potential pound notes and got him to extend his contract and then have been hawking him around the championship to try and sell him, so whilst obviously he has wanted to move on in order to progress it has been clear to me that the club did not want him here either & have been actively trying to sell him but everyone seems to think that Styles is the bad guy here , personally I think the club are culpable , he is better than division one as proven last night but he has been messed about , played here there & anywhere and then put up for auction which has backfired on the club .

Who knows how signing his contract extension panned out? He may have had no acceptable offers from other clubs so he signed back on here? We just don't know do we.

All I saw last season was a player with a half arsed attitude. He was a player who could've potentially made a big difference for us last season but he was average at best. By January I was glad he left for Sunderland.

Funny thing is, he's been at Millwall and Sunderland yet there's been no offers from either club to purchase him permanently and they've had a right good look at him for over half a season.

How do you know there have been no offers ? The only thing I know is that he was playing on the biggest stage in Europe last night and did not look out of place but hey it is all about opinions , my opinion is that if we can leave out international players or loan them out we must have hell of a strong squad, makes you wonder why we did not get automatic promotion last season .

Tha mis read mi post Shads. I said that 'he may have had no other offers, we don't know'

I was offering an alternative view that's all.

Yes, he may have done ok in that 60 mins against probably the worst team in the tournament but what I saw of him in a Barnsley shirt last season, he was certainly not stand out by any means. Thaz got to remember the standard of league 1 as well Shads. Tha'd think an international footballer laikin for a team currently ranked 27th in the world rankings would shine way above the standard of league one, especially in a side playing passing football like Collins team was doing. I questioned his desire. Maybe he believes in his own press and thinks hes above laikin fir Tarnor summat, I dont know.

The one game he did impress me was when he covered Cadden at left wing back- think it may have been Reading away? He was excellent that day. The rest of the games he didn't make much of an impact to suggest his abilities were upwards of league 1.

I think both Styles and the club would want a sale and a parting of ways this summer.

You are right in what you say , I cannot disagree with any of that , personally I think he will move on but if he was to stay I would hope he would be left wing back , under Struber and Val I thought he played very well in that position but under Asbagi, Shopp and Collins he was continually messed about and I strongly believe our owners hawked him out with a view to sell instead of getting the best out of him in a reds shirt , but I started the thread mainly to discuss the possibility of Scotland getting dumped out of the Euro"s and I was not disappointed !!!

Hungary are yet to lose a game that Callum Styles has started.

    His record:

    14 games, 9 wins, 5 draws, 0 defeats.

    Some food for thought Shads.

Impressive stats Poggy and credit to the lad , it must have been very difficult at first for him with the language etc and teaming up with a virtual group of strangers to establish himself as a regular in the squad , the only way he could make an impact would be to let his football do the talking , a lot of our fans do not rate him but as long as the Hungarian manager does then that is what counts, good luck to him , I wish him well .

I totally agree with you Shad, I'm sick to death of this McScotchland nonsense.
So their fans are apparently great are they, and they have earned a lot of praise from the hosts Germany as well, etc!.
Well whoopy do, who cares. 😁
