The voting system in America is totally different from here.
People are either committed democrats or republicans with very few prepared to ‘sit on the fence’ and vote for the person nominated by each party will make a better job of running America as president.

That explains why the presidency flip flops between Democrat and Republican, it's all those committed voters and the lack of fence sitters.

I think Biden will step down and give someone else a chance. Democrats will be horrified by the prospect of Trump as President. Surely commonsense will prevail. The trouble is Kamala Harris looks like she would be an even bigger loser.
