So he loses ONE game and he’s sacked? What a wasted pre season for the incoming Manager.

Bad management by the Preston board.

I think the strong reaction of the Preston fans on social media after the defeat to Sheffield United probably did for him.
Apparently he said he was pleased with a lot of aspects of the Preston performance which provoked widespread anger and ridicule.
It does seem ridiculous to sack him after just one game but unfortunately that's symptomatic of the modern game and the power of social media.
