Thread: Do we lavish too much praise on footballers?

    I'd take the theatrics and excessive praise over some of the other trends which seem to come with today's game.

    1. Throwing beer around in fan zones etc when a goal is scored.
    2. Pseudo-experts overcomplicating the game - "he's the best number 10 in the league, but he's rubbish if he's 3 inches further back and doesn't have the right sort of deep-lying, left sided, semi-Makalele, half-twist double-pike player behind him"
    3. Complaining about footballers having opinions (whilst also complaining that today's players are dull and have no personality...?!?!?)

    They do that at the games here in the US, so f*&king annoying!
