I like strong government and imo on the last 50 years we have had only 2.

Interestingly only 3 Labour Prime Ministers have ever won a parliamentary majority.
Whilst I agree about the quality of the politicians being the requirement, the big issue for me is how we choose these politicians.

How were Johnson and Corbyn the leaders at the last election?

People who go far in politics do so because they know the right people, particularly in the media and they play the media/PR card (see Boris Johnson) or they are backed by a large Union (see Corbyn). These things should not be a precursor as to how far you should rise within your party.

I'd like to see more cross party decisions. And I'd like to see smarter people who have real life experience in parliament. Boris Johnson / Corbyn are career politicians. Rishi Sunak is an extremely wealthy guy who was parachuted into a safe seat a few years ago.

I don't know how it would be resolved or the full answer to the question, but the system needs to change to encourage the right type of politicians we have representing us. Not just one's like Corbyn and Johnson. PR seems like a good start to me.

If the polls are correct with 16% of the votes Reform would get 100+ seats. Good idea?

And just from a shear numbers point of view it's not illegals that are the major problem it's legal immigration 700k v 50k approx. Does anyone think this is sustainable? And why can't we get a grip of it?

If that's how the country votes, then that's how it votes. I'm not a Reform fan, and I don't know why anyone would vote for them but is it fair right now that Reform could get 16% of the vote, yet only have 1 or 2 MPs out of 650?
