Stopping the boats would stop about 2% of the people who come here. It's barely worth even mentioning.

One of the biggest issues we have in this country is the ageing population. We need younger people to work, because the number of older people in the country is increasing. The birth rate of British citizens is not increasing (because we're not exactly encouraging young adults to have children - which is another topic entirely) so where do we find people of working age to come in and do the working jobs we need to get done?

We have god knows how many refugees in hotels, unable to work who we're paying for. Why? Why not give them a temporary working visa? I bet most of them are bored out of their brains and want to work. We have fruit that needs picking, hospitality roles, refuse collector jobs - we have almost a million job vacancies. Yet, we have 100k people sitting doing nothing in hotels. I bet some of them will get pushed into the black market and crime in order to earn some cash. The current strategy is bonkers.

The Tories have cut public services to the bone. I read that over 800 libraries have closed since 2010. Is that immigrants fault?

Immigrants are an easy scapegoat for Govt's who break public services. And most people who come here want to work and earn money. So why not let them?
I didn’t mention the word “illegal” in my post, it’s immigration in general that’s killing us.

If you think the majority of these migrants are coming here to pick fruit (if offered the chance) you’re deluding yourself.

In my office at work today I had a very open chat with my staff about the election, this was management through to warehouse lads.

We vote across the spectrum usually so I thought it was an interesting debate.

Every single one of them was more p I s s e d off about immigration and the 700,000+ a year nett arrivals from elsewhere.

It wasn’t confined to criticism of the Tories either, they were scathing about Starmer and Labour, incredulous to Ed Davey’s campaign and disliking the nasty taste that Reform leave in their mouths and yet they were mostly heading for Reform or the Libs.

I repeat my question though 123……how can you contemplate an extra 15m UK residents by the time you hit my age in your early 60’s?

Are you happy for up to 1m people arriving in the UK each year?

Would you impose no points system of any kind?
