I'd love to see a stop to politicians using Edinburgh as a fallback if they lose a seat in the GE. Would also like to see them unable to sit in both parliaments too.

    Never going to happen.

    University + party job + cooncillor + MSP/MP = “careerism”.

Only candidates who never ever offer an opinion or don’t even think of deviating even slightly from the “agreed” party line will be offered access to the lucrative careerism pathway = “cronyism”.

Useful idiot cannon/lobby fodder and protection of those in elevated positions.

It’s simple to explain and understand.

    They’re ALL at it.

    It’s endemic.

    Just stop encouraging it.

I get that, I really do.

I still vote, but I have nothing but contempt for politicians and parties. I think it started when I wrote to one once for some help with a matter. Never again.

As a wise person once said, if a vote was really going to change anything, they wouldn't let us vote.

The saddest part of all this is that we can give the Labour party a huge majority to wield power with on the back of 35% share of 60% of all eligible voters. Nobody cares one jot that over 40% of voters didn't bother.

It's a bit like following Aberdeen. You know your going to be let down for the most part, but you still keep at it in hope.

It could be some of the 40% who did not vote did not have a valid photo ID, so couldn't vote.

To be honest, I'm more interested in the election up here in 2026 and believe that Starmer will have shown what little he stands for by then and the press will have turned their attack on him. Hopefully the SNP concentrate on important stuff instead of gender shyte.
Yup' hopefully that's where SNP get it all back. Given peeps will be pissed off we the bedroom tax costly prescriptions no free bus travel for under 25s. I'm disillusioned we Scotland min.😣

Will be interesting to see how much people were turned away due to that.

If Starmer had anything about him (he doesn't) he would do away with that ID shyte.

Aye, the Labour voters will soon find out you don't vote for change unless you know what the change is. They have already said tough decisions will need to be made and we know who suffers from that and it ain't the rich.

We might all have hated Blair and how he changed the Labour party for the worse, but he undoubtedly improved things when he come in and did what he said he would do, rightly or wrongly. They have voted his heir apparent into the top job now and nobody has any idea what he stands for as he enters number 10.

Just a pity Library users like me and other users of our public services caused such a mess of the international money markets back in 2008, that saw the Tories back in power.
I will also never forget or forgive the Lib Dems for aiding and abetting them. Clearly many have!

I was hoping for a comment from Stewarty or Buc, but not a phoneme or a syllable so far.

    How very odd.

You could fit all the SNP MPs in a campervan.
