Not certain but I heard it was at one of the University sites.

Our own training facility must be quite high on the infrastructure to do list for the club in the coming years.
It does not need to be anything lavish either. Some full size grass pitches, a 4G all weather floodlit pitch that could be used by other teams and the community along with a small building with changing rooms, a can**** and some education rooms.
Mansfield have this with the Radford and Hymas academy and it’s basically what I’ve described.
The problem for the brothers will no doubt be finding somewhere in Nottingham close enough to the ground where such a facility could be built.
Someone raised this subject last week, suggesting it was a cost-cutting exercise, but we’ve not heard anything official from the club about it. Wasn’t part of the training ground deal that Forest could play their U-23 games at Meadow Lane?
And of course, it’s pretty shameful that we’ve always had to scramble around for training facilities throughout our history - but especially since football became coached rather than just jogging around the pitch to keep fit.

It was so I'd imagine whatever rent we paid was quite small.
I'd be surprised Forest would want to end the deal now we have a Premier League style pitch which would be helpful for them. Having said that it also means we can train on our own pitch more in the future if the red dogs aren't using it anymore.
Remember Widmerpool back in the day where Notts used to train? I watched a friendly down there once and the players were falling down rabbit holes and kicking mole hills !![]()
I can’t imagine we’ve fallen out with them. The bros were asked about it in the fans forum but seemed like a long term objective. I imagine you’re well into the millions to get anything state of the art so trying to rent seems a better idea if it’s a decent standard and spend the money like they have done so far in trying to generate some income.

On the face of it then it seemed like a good arrangement with Forest. Obviously we do not know the ins and outs as to why we are not using that facility anymore.
I think the brothers are sensible enough to appreciate there being some value in having some form of amicable relationship with Forest especially as there will no doubt be some emerging talent in their academy at some point and a loan move helps both clubs. It's been some years now since Grant and Yates came on loan and now we are back in the EFL and Forest are in the premier league loans may start to happen again?
Not sure why it has to be near the ground( obv in Nottingham terms very expensive). Locally to me Lincoln built a training ground from scratch in the sticks nowhere near their ground.
Notts may have other thoughts but if we’re only looking round Bridgford/City and surrounding areas no wonder we haven’t done it yet.
