While I wouldn’t say that your feelings are invalid, I struggle to think of an American president in my lifetime that doesn’t fit that description… maybe Jimmy Carter? No, not even him. He funded and armed the fundamentalists in Afghanistan. A hell of a lot of people were harmed as a result of that decision…
There are a bazillion political leaders who have caused carnage with foreign policy. There are few who have "shat on their own doorstep" in a supposed democratic country as Trump through shady domestic business dealings. The closest ones I can think of that come to mind are Conservative MPs and the PPE scandal. But at least the public saw them for what they were and comprehensively booted them out.
Ok, let’s put ourselves into a smaller box then.
Biden and the credit card companies. Obama carrying out extrajudicial assassinations on American citizens. Bush and Cheney shady dealings with Halliburton and Blackwater. Bill with Big Pharma, etc.
“Ok, yeah, that’s true, but at least they didn’t ________ [insert what Trump did here].”
If I were American I wouldn’t vote Trump either, but I have yet to be able to pinpoint any principles that consistently distinguishes other presidents from him.
How can you deplore someone you don't know? You probably know very little about him apart from the rubbish that the media serves you.
I couldn't stand Bill Clinton and even more Barack Obama - I wouldn't wish death on anyone whoever they were. Trump supporters were called the deplorables by Hilary Clinton, but seriously there are people on here that are much lower than that.
Absolutely superb points - a voice of reason. Don't forget Obama's continuation of Guantanamo Bay. The caging of illegal immigrants from Mexico and their children in the Child Detention Centres on the southern border. Damn there's so much. We had family and friends who lived in the US at the time of Obama's reign and they told us that he was hated that much that he would have never got in again if he could have stood for a third term. That was another reason the Democrats went for Hilary as they felt that Biden was too closely connected to Obama. Now, the only options they have to replace Biden is the Vice President with the lowest popularity rating ever, who doesn't have one ounce of common sense and just laughs all the time, because she never understands 'the question' or Michelle Obama.
GW Bush - used his brother Jed (the then Governor of Florida) to prevent black US voters from getting to the polling booths in Florida, so that George W could hold the state and win the election. No election fraud there. Totally out of his depth with 9/11 plus the inference that he and his family were that thick with the Saudis that he protected them at all costs.
Bill Clinton - boy oy boy (latterly used his Foundation to funnel funds to back Hilary in the 2016 election). Ronald Reagan - a movie star as President. JFK, reportedly had over 200 affairs while he was President. Massive disaster with the Bay of Pigs Invasion, which was the start of the confrontation with Cuba which nearly led to a third world war. We're only told today how he stood his ground with Russia.
I just need telling again how bad Trump is. He's no better or worse than any other previous President in terms of character. The USA has always been protectionist and always been seen as the Police Force of the world. The same world that slags of the USA when it suits them. The main difference with Trump is that he didn't start any new wars while in office and his team spent most of their time trying to bring US Servicemen home. If I was American and that meant not sacrificing anyone in my family for a cause a million miles away, I'd give him my vote every time.
A mate of mine over here in New Zealand is a senior Police Officer and he always says that for someone to say they 'hate' somebody who they have never met or had no dealings with, says more about the mental capacity of those doing the 'hating' rather than mental capacity of the one they hate.
Can you show your proof please - I'm not backing Trump here, just calling out bull$hit from keyboard warriors. I mean, if you feel that strongly about him, why don't you take him to court to prove your point?
I really can't find any President in the last 40 years that has waged a war on the US Constitution.
