    OT - Gaz Safegate

    ... has resigned.

Mixed feelings. Look at where we were when he took over as interim gaffer in 2016 and where we are now. A world of difference, in a very positive way. He deserves kudos for what he has achieved.

Conversely, his safety first tactics, excessive loyalty to players, reticence to make changes quickly enough have probably cost us both Euros finals we were in.

Whoever takes over will have a much better starting position than Gareth did and, hopefully, doesn't throw that away. I have no idea who will get the job on a permanent basis but it would not surprise me one iota to see Lee Carsley get the interim job.

I was uninspired when he was appointed but I think he can hold his head up high, decent bloke who's done well

The king is dead, long live the king

We move on with a solid foundation of players who hopefully will be allowed to bring their club style / form under a different manager

He's made the best of English talent since 66, good job.
Hope we get an English manager. Wonder if Lampard gets in.

I get why you’d want an English manager, RS…but honestly…who is there? Howe, Potter and Lampard? No thanks, not for me. Howe yet to prove himself in a top job, likewise Potter and Lampard…just no! Three clubs and three failures.
    For me? Klopp…but I doubt it’ll happen.

And England ladies manager, Wiegman - the BBC news stated ‘it’s been suggested that…’, and yes it has - by BBC News…
