I think Eddie Howe would have been a shoe in for this but he seems to have settled in well at Newcastle with their new mega rich ownership so can’t see any way he’d leave for the England job right now. Graham Potter is probably favourite but no way should it be a foreigner again. If we can’t find a decent English coach we should be ashamed of ourselves. My preference would be Michael Carrick who I think would have the international and big club record needed for dealing with big ego players. He also seems the kind of guy who can get on with the players. I’m sorry to see Gareth go he’s done a fantastic job in his time in charge and I’d have hoped he’d try the World Cup again before leaving.
