    Southgate resigned.

    Thanks for the memories Gareth.

Rumoured that ex-Barnsley Head Coach Neill Collins is favourite to take over with Southgate coming to Barnsley next summer as part of the annual turnover of staff.

People on here may have realised that I’m no fan of Neill Collins but I’d rather have him than the limp timid Southgate.

    I’d go for Klopp.

I think Eddie Howe would have been a shoe in for this but he seems to have settled in well at Newcastle with their new mega rich ownership so can’t see any way he’d leave for the England job right now. Graham Potter is probably favourite but no way should it be a foreigner again. If we can’t find a decent English coach we should be ashamed of ourselves. My preference would be Michael Carrick who I think would have the international and big club record needed for dealing with big ego players. He also seems the kind of guy who can get on with the players. I’m sorry to see Gareth go he’s done a fantastic job in his time in charge and I’d have hoped he’d try the World Cup again before leaving.

They will give Lee Carsley the job! FA always go for the easier option. He has the u21's connection Southgate had.

Thing is Perks Southgate laiked at international level for a vast number of games and managed Boro at Premiership level.

No disrespect to Carsley but he hasn't got that on his CV. Not knocking the blowk but perhaps it's too big a challenge for him without the experience.

Personally I'd go for Jurgen Klopp. I think the job would suit him as it's not as intense and loadbearing as the weekly rigour of club management. His style of football would really suit the kind of attack minded players that we have at our disposal to utilise their strengths, where as Southgate couldn't quite do that which cost us lifting a trophy during his tenure in my opinion.

There seem to be a lot of call for Jurgen Klopp but I think that's a lot of wishful thinking, I think he’ll end up with the German job in readiness for the World Cup. Knowing how ambitious our lot are they’ll be looking to pull a golden turd out of the hat to show us how forward thinking they are, so my 50p will be going on somebody like Michael Carrick.

I'm going for a nice well-spoken chap in the mould of Trevor Brooking and Gareth Southgate.

    Step forward Eddie Howe.
