Have a look at the bloke who has just managed Spain to the Euros title. Having previously managed Bilbao reserves and Alaves for just 11 games he then managed Spain U16's thro to U23's. Spanish fans didn't want him. Not a big enough name. Done OK!

Is 'he has Southgate's DNA running through him' still your primary concern or has his record persuaded you different?

I'll come back to, of all the Englishmen named he is the only one that has on his CV 'WINNER'
I’ll tell you what the difference is here in my opinion.

It’s maybe down to the Spanish mentality whereby elite players respect a coach that’s worked his way through the way Spain’s coach has.

I’ll give you an example of the “English problem” as I see it.

Bellingham!

I’m surprised and disappointed at what a pain in the a r s e the guy is fast becoming, I’m sure you’ve read about him ignoring English media, acting like a Diva, throwing his toys out of the pram, screaming at Southgate during the final!

The only reason a player acts like this is because he thinks he can get away with it, ie. the coach is weak and doesn’t command the respect.

Do you think he’d do that with Klopp or Pep?

The problem is our players not the coaching abilities of Carsley.
